Business

I've spent most of my life knowing I want to work for myself. So last summer, I began the journey of starting my own business. I knew that I wanted to incorporate something I love doing into my business, so I decided to start a matcha cart. My cart will pop up at markets and events in the Tacoma and Puyallup, Washington area. I plan on having it up and running early summer at local events. I am interested in having my cart at farmers' markets, local businesses, weddings, work/business events, and any other fun opportunities I come across! Through the process of starting my business, I have learned how to get permits, how to draw blueprints for small building projects, and how to manage my business's finances. One of the biggest things I have learned is how to network. Starting a business has definitely been a learning curve, and I am grateful to have learned so much and to continue learning from it, and I can't wait to see where it takes me!

Cart Build

Building the cart for my business has been something I have really enjoyed. I started by exploring Pinterest, TikTok, and Instagram to create a moodboard of what I wanted my cart to look like. Then I began sketching out the size and general structure of my cart so that I could begin the build.

For the build itself, it's still being built, but the shell of it has been built. All that is left is some finishing details, cosmetic stuff, and decorating it.

I am not building the cart by myself. I am building it with a professional who has been able to take my blueprints and make my drawing on paper come to life! He has also given me the opportunity to work with him on my cart, which has been a fun experience and a bit of an introduction/insight into what goes into building something.

Website

An important part of starting my business is having a website. Creating my business website was a fun experience for me and also a learning curve. I went into it with very minimal experience on what went into creating a website, but with time, patience, and research, I was able to create a website that I love and will be able to expand upon as my business grows.

While making the website, I was able to express myself and my business through the design and information I added. One of my favorite creative elements on my website is the menu that I created. It took time to create and a lot of patience, and I love how it turned out.

Further, I wanted my website to be interesting and engaging for whoever is viewing it. For me, it was important that I have a strong hook and call to action on the homepage that makes the audience explore more of my website and business.
